About me

My name is Dmitry Chornyi and this is my personal blog. I’m a software engineer at Uber, working on the payments platform. Previously I was at Apple, OpenTable, as well as a few startups.

I enjoy learning about building reliable and scalable distributed systems, modular software design, microservices, databases, and programming languages. I had been leading and managing engineers for a few years, so I’m naturally interested in building cohesive and performant teams, engineering culture, product development, agile methods, and DevOps.

I was born in Ukraine, went to school at the Munich University of Technology & Stanford, and now live with my wife in Foster City, CA.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, working out, biking, and travel.
